Medical Assistant Pulmonary Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our Pulmonary Clinic team at Corewell Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing clinical support to our healthcare professionals, ensuring the delivery of quality healthcare services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate efficient patient flow, preparing patients for visits and providing specific services and education as determined by our providers.
- Perform administrative duties, maintaining and monitoring electronic health records, and ensuring all information is current and updated.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment, work area, and equipment, and communicate any equipment malfunctions to the appropriate department/unit personnel.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing a caring and respectful experience.
- Collect and monitor patient data, reporting patient needs and data as directed, and documenting care consistent with documentation guidelines.
- Engage in process and quality improvement activities, making recommendations to improve operational efficiency and implement new services.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program required.
- 1 year of relevant experience working in a physician practice or healthcare setting preferred.
- One of the following certifications required within 120 days: AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA), or AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at our Hughes Professional Center location in Grand Rapids.
