Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Assistant Primary Care Specialist to join our team at Corewell Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide clinical support to our healthcare professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate efficient and effective patient flow, preparing patients for visits and providing specific services and education as determined by our healthcare providers.
  • Perform administrative duties to ensure accurate and up-to-date patient information, including maintenance and monitoring of electronic health records.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment, work area, and equipment, and communicate any equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
  • Provide exceptional patient care and communication, greeting and interacting with patients and their families in a caring and respectful manner.
  • Collect and monitor patient data, reporting patient needs and data as directed, and document care consistent with documentation guidelines.
  • Engage in process and quality improvement activities, identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and implement new services.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain professional competence, knowledge, and skills necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program required.
  • 1 year of relevant experience working in a physician practice or healthcare setting preferred.
  • One of the following certifications required within 120 days: AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA), or AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
Work Environment

This role is a full-time position with a variable schedule, including day shifts, and may require occasional weekend work. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.
