Position Overview:
The Clinical Respiratory Therapist is responsible for delivering respiratory and pulmonary care, management, and rehabilitation under the supervision of a physician.

This role involves treating conditions impacting the pulmonary system and assisting patients experiencing breathing difficulties, ranging from infants to the elderly, across various healthcare environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Comply with established policies and procedures of the organization.

• Conduct focused assessments to determine specific patient needs.

• Recognize signs and symptoms indicating physiological and psychosocial changes in patients.

• Develop care plans for assigned patients.

• Assist in diagnosing respiratory disorders.

• Evaluate patients and perform necessary tests and studies.

• Collaborate with physicians to determine appropriate therapy and treatment options.

• Analyze laboratory results, including blood and sputum, when applicable.

• Manage respiratory and pulmonary equipment and devices.

• Educate patients and their families about lung diseases and breathing issues.

• Implement interventions based on identified priorities and care plans, adhering to hospital policies and patient care standards.

• Follow emergency, safety, and infection control protocols.

• Engage in activities that promote effective interpersonal communication.

• Report any changes in the patient's respiratory condition to the appropriate healthcare team members.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Current Respiratory Therapist Certification or Registration for the state of practice.

• Preferred: One year of clinical experience in respiratory therapy.

• Adhere to all relevant professional standards of practice.

• Complete Amergis' Competency program when applicable.

• Current CPR certification, if applicable.

• TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray, if applicable.

• Current Health certificate as per contract or state regulations.

• Meet all federal, state, and local requirements.

• Successful completion of new hire training as relevant to the job site.

• Understand and maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

• Strong communication skills; proficiency in English is required.

• Computer proficiency is necessary.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
