Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aquatic Safety Specialist to join our team at the Salvation Army Tucson. As a key member of our aquatic team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our patrons while providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor activities and provide assistance to swimmers, preventing accidents and enforcing regulations
  • Provide first aid and rescue services as needed
  • Instruct swimming lessons and other aquatic programs
  • Assist with general facility maintenance and cleaning duties
  • Attend all in-service trainings and maintain certification requirements
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • 1 year of experience as a lifeguard
  • American Red Cross certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
  • American Red Cross Oxygen Administration certification
  • AED certification
  • Experience working with children and families
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to water and potential hazards. The successful candidate must be able to lift and carry at least 40 pounds, sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, jog, pull, push, balance, reach, and use fingers and hands.
