Basic Purpose:

The Aquatic Safety Supervisor is responsible for overseeing aquatic activities, ensuring the safety of all swimmers, and enforcing facility regulations. This role includes providing first aid when necessary, instructing swimming lessons, and assisting with the maintenance of the aquatic facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Support the Aquatics Coordinator in daily operations.
  2. Act as the lead lifeguard in the absence of the Aquatics Coordinator.
  3. Monitor and assess water quality and safety standards.
  4. Enforce facility rules to maintain a safe environment for all patrons.
  5. Conduct rescues and provide emergency care as needed.
  6. Maintain cleanliness and organization of all aquatic areas.
  7. Document incidents and maintain accurate records.
  8. Assist in delivering swim lessons and other aquatic programs.
  9. Communicate effectively with staff and patrons.
  10. Represent the mission of The Salvation Army in all interactions.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Skills:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Experience in customer service and public interaction.
  • Minimum of 1 year of lifeguard experience.
  • Current certifications in Lifeguard Training, First Aid, and CPR are required.

Physical Requirements:

The role demands proficient swimming skills and the ability to perform rescues. Candidates must be in good physical condition to meet the demands of the position.
