Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lifeguard II to join our team at the Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Suisun City, CA. As a Lifeguard II, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our members and guests while they enjoy our aquatic facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor activities and observe swimmers to prevent accidents and ensure a safe environment
  • Provide assistance to swimmers, enforce regulations, and control access to pools, cabanas, and lockers
  • Provide first aid and respond to emergencies as needed
  • Instruct swimming lessons and other aquatic programs
  • Assist with general facility maintenance and cleaning duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • 1-year experience as a lifeguard
  • American Red Cross certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid
Preferred Qualifications
  • American Red Cross certifications in Oxygen Administration and AED
  • Experience working with children and adults in a aquatic setting
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, members, and guests
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, lift and carry up to 40 pounds, and perform rescue and first aid techniques. The Salvation Army is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates.
