We are currently seeking a Bilingual Community Navigator proficient in Spanish to serve the Wayne County region. In this role, you will be pivotal in facilitating inclusive events, activities, and resources at our newly established Family Resource Center. You will be the welcoming face for families visiting our center, providing essential support and guidance. This position requires approximately 15-20 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

Case Management (70%)

  • Engage with families seeking services and assistance at the Family Resource Center.
  • Collaborate with community partners to support families effectively.
  • Facilitate connections between families and available resources, offering informal support as needed.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of community resources to assist families.

Community Engagement and Outreach (30%)

  • Identify and stay informed about local resources that provide family support and recreational opportunities.
  • Act as a representative of the agency at events, meetings, and outreach initiatives.
  • Organize community events focused on preventing child abuse and neglect, which may occur during evenings and weekends.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license with current insurance and a clean driving record (no more than 6 points).
  • At least two years of experience working directly with families in a human services capacity.
  • Knowledge of child development principles.
  • Ability to engage effectively with the community.
  • Strong motivation to meet established work quality standards.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to interact with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Respect for and understanding of cultural differences.
