Garces, Grabler & LeBrocq, P.C., a well-established and high-volume Plaintiff's Personal Injury Law Firm, is currently seeking a Temporary/Contract PIP Arbitration Legal Assistant. This role requires expertise in Personal Injury Protection (PIP) Arbitration matters. Our firm comprises approximately 120 professionals across multiple offices, including Philadelphia. We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to enhance our PIP Arbitration team.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist attorneys in reviewing new case assignments and approving initial legal documents.
- Manage a high volume of PIP Litigation, including filing no-fault arbitration demands.
- Conduct thorough reviews of medical provider files.
- Engage with clients to address their concerns and inquiries.
- Open and verify insurance claims related to bodily injury or property damage.
- Handle invoicing, e-filing, legal pleadings, and processing settlement checks.
- Prepare monthly reports for medical providers.
- Maintain the attorney's calendar and track important deadlines.
- Assist in drafting answers and pleadings for Interrogatories.
- Review all evidentiary documents pertinent to cases.
- Communicate case claims with clients effectively.
- Prepare for and conduct court appearances, including hearings and meetings.
- Support attorneys in preparing witnesses and clients for depositions.
- Assist in the preparation of Arbitrations, Mediations, and trials, including expert witnesses.
- Contribute to drafting Trial motions.
- Provide legal opinions regarding client claims.
- Participate in appeals as necessary.
- Investigate and pursue subrogation litigation when appropriate.
- Responsible for managing federal and state filings.
- Assist with settlement negotiations.
- High School diploma or equivalent; Paralegal certification is highly preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in Personal Injury Protection Litigation.
- General understanding of law firm operations.
- Experience with No Fault and/or Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is advantageous.
- Ability to maintain accurate and organized case files.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and legal research tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, essential for collaboration and report preparation.
- Meticulous attention to detail is crucial.
- Capacity to manage a substantial caseload and adapt to new skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong familiarity with e-court systems.
- Willingness to travel to various courts and offices as needed.
- In-depth knowledge of New Jersey PIP regulations.
- Ability to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience with case management software; SmartAdvocate experience is a plus.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is an advantage.
