Key Responsibilities
  • Payroll Processing: Accurately process payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Payroll Audits and Reconciliations: Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of payroll data to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Payroll Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate filing of payroll taxes and other statutory deductions.
  • Payroll Reporting: Generate and distribute payroll reports to management, including summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, and non-taxable wages.
  • Payroll System Management: Manage and update payroll systems, ensuring they are configured correctly and efficiently.
  • Payroll Support: Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries and issues from employees promptly and professionally.
  • Payroll Record Keeping: Keep detailed records of payroll transactions, including deductions, benefits, and garnishments.
  • Payroll Training and Development: Train and mentor junior payroll staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5 years of experience in payroll processing, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
  • Skills: Proficiency in payroll software, and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Payroll Knowledge: Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex payroll concepts to non-experts.
