Job Summary:
The Front Desk Coordinator performs a variety of administrative tasks to support the Physical Therapy Department at St. Luke's Health Network. This role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing patient records, and ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer and direct phone calls in a timely and professional manner
- Update and maintain accurate patient information
- Organize and maintain files in a secure and accessible manner
- Establish and maintain accurate patient records and filing systems
- Complete patient registration and scheduling processes with accuracy and efficiency
- Verify patient insurance benefits and process pre-certifications/authorizations
- Schedule appointments and maintain a full department schedule
- Communicate scheduling issues to the Department Manager
- Process payments and prepare receipts
- Distribute mail to clinical staff
- Process requests for release of information in accordance with Medical Record Department policies
Requirements:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, and Access) and other PC software
- Three years of related office experience, preferably in a medical setting
Working Conditions:
This role requires sitting for up to eight hours per day, standing for up to eight hours per day, and frequent use of hands, fingers, and arms. The ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively is also required.
