Job Summary

The Practice Coordinator provides critical support to the medical practice, ensuring efficient operation of the front and back office. This role is responsible for staff scheduling, maintaining filing systems, and end-of-month reports. Additionally, the Practice Coordinator must maintain expertise in computer billing systems, coding, and insurance requirements. This position works closely with the Practice Administrator and physicians to ensure the successful operation of the practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain documented patient tracking for HF/PH medications
  • Process HF/PH prior authorization and medication enrollment forms
  • Manage medication couponing and HF/PH foundation funding
  • Review CHF patient lists and conduct post-discharge calls
  • Coordinate cardiac clearance and review HF clinical support pool emails and team channels
  • Enter care management referrals in Epic
  • Support business plan implementation for the office
  • Provide support for providers, clinical, and clerical staff
  • Arrange meetings and schedule appointments for physicians
  • Maintain competence in GE Practice Management system Master Scheduling
  • Screen telephone calls and visitors, and sort incoming and interdepartmental mail
  • Distribute correspondence to designated individuals and maintain files
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Facilitate team approach to departmental functions
  • Work with Practice Administrator, physicians, and Regional Manager to prepare and monitor financial budgets
  • Maintain high level of competence on Physician Billing computer system
  • Oversee all aspects of billing and financial management
  • Report issues or process improvements to Practice Administrator
Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • One to three years of similar experience
  • Knowledge of medical office procedures and management
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medications
  • Knowledge of computer systems and medical practice billing
  • Current CPR certification
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, organize workload, and adapt to changing situations
  • Excellent organizational skills and productivity
  • Confidentiality in maintaining correspondence, personnel, financial, and operational issues
