About the Role
As a Project Accountant within our Accounting division, you will play a pivotal role in assisting management with various projects and initiatives that are typically unique in nature. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Engaging in specific segments of the monthly and quarterly closing processes, ensuring alignment with our financial accounting teams.
  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of all Moda Health entities to facilitate smoother project execution.
  • Contributing to a collaborative environment while maintaining individual accountability in a project-focused role.

Key Responsibilities
This position is designed for individuals with a robust accounting background who thrive in a dynamic team setting. You will:
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of diverse accounting projects across the organization.
  • Participate in the monthly close process, including journal entry preparation and accompanying analyses.
  • Support compliance with Moda's Model Audit Rule (MAR) through monthly control preparations and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Engage in quarterly financial reporting and assist with income tax-related tasks.
  • Conduct technical research and apply findings to enhance our accounting practices.

Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with a preference for Accounting.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting or general ledger accounting; CPA designation is a plus.
  • A strong grasp of accounting principles, including GAAP and SAP.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
