MEP Project Engineer

Mortenson's MEP Project Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring the successful delivery of our construction projects. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing field coordination issues, providing solutions, and managing project timelines. Your exceptional organizational skills, flexibility, and ability to work with various stakeholders will be essential in this role.

**Responsibilities:**

* Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and craft persons
* Implement the pre-construction quality plan
* Obtain and maintain all necessary construction permits
* Manage and coordinate the 3-D coordination process
* Establish handling procedures for electronic documents
* Manage all aspects of testing and inspection processes
* Implement three-phase inspection system
* Notify the Project Manager and Superintendent of test results or inspection items
* Assist the commissioning process on the project
* Manage submittals, including preparing project-specific transmittal forms and coordinating the packaging, review, and processing of submittals
* Communicate details and requirements for the submittal process to subcontractors and suppliers
* Lead all activities required in the project closeout

**Qualifications:**

* Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks
* Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
* Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
* Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level
* Proven positive and professional attitude and customer service skills
* Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
* Minimum three years construction experience, preferably experience with a Mechanical or Electrical Contractor
* Current driver's license

**Education:**

* Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management
