Position Overview:

In this dynamic role, the selected candidate will be tasked with the development and enhancement of measurement and sensing technologies tailored for cutting-edge semiconductor production methodologies. The individual will collaborate closely with TEL's process specialists, product innovators, and client engineers to provide exceptional solutions to customers globally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute control strategies utilizing optical critical dimension and thin film measurement techniques.
  • Analyze market demands, focusing on performance metrics, cost efficiency, and time limitations.
  • Employ sophisticated analytical methods to enhance equipment functionality and optimize processes.
  • Conduct evaluations and characterizations of new products, delivering comprehensive reports to the design engineering team.
  • Facilitate customer demonstrations and assist in the market integration of TEL's offerings.
  • Provide training and support to both internal teams and external clients.
  • Address field escalations and assist clients in resolving technical issues.
  • Effectively communicate customer concerns and continuous improvement requests to the design engineering team.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure the ongoing success of TEL's solutions.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30% to client locations both domestically and internationally.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, chemistry, or a related discipline; advanced degrees (MS/PhD) are preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience as an applications engineer specializing in optical critical dimension and thin film measurement tools within semiconductor manufacturing or integrated circuit production.
  • Strong understanding of spectroscopic ellipsometry, reflectometry, and scatterometry.
  • Background knowledge in plasma etching is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., MATLAB, R, Python) is preferred.
  • Ability to operate in a cleanroom environment.
  • Highly driven with a commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Exceptional analytical, project management, and communication abilities.
