Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop complete and complex frameworks, systems, or products
  • Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output, and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility
  • Conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve system design weaknesses
  • Influence the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems
  • Develop IO maps, interlock strategies, and identify component requirements for software developers
  • Organize and participate in design reviews of machine improvements and new designs, including FMEA and Fault Tree Analysis
  • Manage design and drafting staff for engineering projects, monitoring schedules and budgets
  • Provide subsystem design, documentation (schematics and assembly drawings), and packaging of sub-assemblies
  • Quote engineering labor and material for marketing feasibility
  • Work with high vacuum components (roughing pumps, turbo pumps, cryo pumps, and valving) and clean room procedures
  • Work with gas and liquid fluid handling systems: piping, valves, flow control, and measurement
  • Work with gas handling systems (mass flow controllers and transducers) and exhaust system requirements
  • Work with pneumatic and cooling system components and controls
  • Familiar with National Electric Code (NEC), ISO procedures, and Lockout/Tagout requirements
  • Familiar with SEMI S2-0200, SEMI S8-0600, and CE certification
  • General working knowledge of 3D CAD design tools. CREO and/or Solid Works implemented at TMEA
  • Experience using engineering analysis tools (FEA, CFD, etc.) in the design process given strong consideration

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years of related experience; or master's degree with 6 years of related experience
  • Degrees in Physics, electrical, mechanical, or systems engineering preferred
  • 8+ years in development of capital equipment, preferably Semiconductor wet and/or vacuum process equipment
  • 25% travel

Physical Demands and Work Conditions

The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 35 pounds. This position also requires 4 to 6 hours per day at a computer screen/keyboard.
