Machinist III

Marotta Controls is seeking a highly skilled Machinist III to join our team of experts in the design, development, and production of precision control components and systems. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for setting up and operating various types of conventional and CNC machine shop equipment to produce complex, tight tolerance products.

• Manufacturing and Quality Control
  • Manufacture production and tooling parts using a variety of tools, equipment, and materials as required
  • Set-up and operate machine shop equipment in an effective, efficient, safe and consistent manner
  • Effectively perform component/material inspections utilizing the appropriate measuring equipment/instruments
• Documentation and Communication
  • Generate work instructions, set up sheets, programs, etc. for machining activities
  • Read, interpret, and advise about manufacturability on documents (i.e. blueprints/technical drawings, tolerances, GD&T, operation/tool/set-up sheets, routers, procedures, ECN's, etc.)
• Team Collaboration and Training
  • Train and mentor others how to perform machining processes for production products
  • Communicate issues and recommendations to the appropriate personnel

• Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment
• Skills and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of machine shop equipment and processes
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

This is a full-time position with a 4-day work week (Monday-Thursday, 6:00AM-4:30PM). Overtime and weekend work may be required. The employee will be required to stand for long periods, sit, walk, stoop, bend, turn, balance, and/or crouch, and move about the facility. The employee may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally up to 70 lbs.
