Staff Nurse II

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Staff Nurse II to join our Neurosurgery team at UTHealth Houston. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive care to patients and families with complex healthcare needs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide safe, effective, patient-centered care that is timely, efficient, and equitable.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments, prioritize care, and document patient information accurately.
- Implement standing orders for prescription refills and labs as needed.
- Develop and implement teaching plans to promote patient education and empowerment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Exercise judgment and critical thinking to coordinate care and refer patients to other services as needed.
- Current state of Texas Registered Nurse licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited nursing school with one year nursing experience; OR Associates degree in nursing from an accredited nursing school with three years nursing experience; OR Nursing Diploma (3 year program) and two years nursing experience.
