Overview:

The Safety Operations Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining a secure environment across various client locations. Under general oversight, this position involves monitoring assigned areas to deter vandalism, theft, and misuse of facilities. The officer will enforce relevant client policies and perform associated responsibilities as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver exceptional customer service to clients, their customers, and the general public.
  2. Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, reporting any incidents of vandalism, disturbances, or criminal activities to the appropriate authorities; ensure compliance with established rules and regulations.
  3. Utilize vehicles, bicycles, or golf carts for patrol duties, ensuring effective enforcement of safety protocols.
  4. Collaborate with clients and law enforcement on incidents and investigations pertaining to client sites.
  5. Respond to service requests at client locations, providing assistance during special events and programs.
  6. Manage vehicular and pedestrian traffic as necessary.
  7. Maintain detailed logs of activities and incidents; prepare comprehensive reports on incidents and their outcomes.
  8. Exhibit a positive attitude towards clients, their customers, and the public while upholding the goals of Palicon Group.

Qualifications:

Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with security methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Proficient in English, including spelling, grammar, and report writing.
  • Understanding of applicable laws and regulations related to security and public safety.

Skills:

  • Ability to see and hear within normal ranges.
  • Capable of physical tasks, including lifting up to 25 pounds and operating vehicles.
  • Strong report writing and communication skills.
  • Effective decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capacity to work independently and maintain effective relationships with various stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required. A valid Security Guard Registration (California Guard Card) is mandatory. Candidates must possess a valid Class "C" California driver's license and meet insurability requirements under Palicon Group's policy. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have no felony convictions or misdemeanors involving moral turpitude.

Physical Demands:

This role requires regular sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting. The employee must have sufficient mobility to perform patrol duties, including riding a bicycle.

Work Environment:

Employees may work in various conditions, including office settings and outdoor environments, and must be prepared for potential exposure to loud noises and varying weather conditions.

Availability:

Flexibility in scheduling is essential, including the ability to work weekends, holidays, and various shifts.
