Primary Responsibilities:

The Safety Compliance Specialist plays a crucial role in planning, executing, and supervising workplace safety protocols for our employees. This position is essential in ensuring adherence to OSHA regulations and internal safety standards. The specialist will also be responsible for educating employees on the significance of health and safety practices at job sites.

Key Duties Include:

  • Collaborating with Operations to coordinate safety assessments and inspections prior to project initiation to identify potential hazards.
  • Conducting on-site safety evaluations and maintaining comprehensive safety documentation.
  • Overseeing regular inspections of work environments, job sites, and teams to guarantee safe operational practices.
  • Assessing production equipment and processes to ensure safety compliance.
  • Providing safety training and guidance to employees regarding safety protocols and machinery operation.
  • Investigating accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective measures.
  • Performing frequent safety audits at job sites and offering expert safety advice in response to identified issues.
  • Delivering safety presentations and training sessions to employees.
  • Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, along with company policies.
  • Working with Human Resources to integrate safety into the onboarding process for new hires.
  • Addressing and rectifying unsafe practices or behaviors.
  • Preparing detailed reports on safety incidents and providing relevant information to management.
  • Documenting all safety training, inspections, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Facilitating both formal and informal safety training sessions as required.
  • Adhering to all safety protocols on job sites.
  • Upholding the values and guidelines of 20/20 and complying with all company policies and procedures.
  • Championing 20/20's core values and motivating others to do the same.
  • Performing additional duties or projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High School diploma or GED is required; experience in managing safety initiatives in multi-family projects is preferred.
  • Certification as a mobile equipment trainer for Telehandler, Scissor-lift, Forklift, and Ariel-Lift is advantageous.
  • A valid California Class C Driver License with a clean DMV record is mandatory.
  • OSHA 30-hour and CPR-First Aid certifications are required.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is required, with the ability to teach and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with diverse individuals.
  • Capability to present and clarify health and safety topics effectively.
  • Familiarity with hazardous materials and practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while prioritizing effectively.

Physical Requirements:
The Safety Compliance Specialist must be capable of lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and bending. The role involves working in various weather conditions, both indoors and outdoors, frequent travel to job sites, and the ability to navigate uneven and unclean terrain for extended periods.
