Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Tufts Medical Center. As a Respiratory Therapist - Adult Critical Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients in our adult critical care units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage patients with cardio-pulmonary dysfunction, including those requiring mechanical ventilation and other life-support therapies.
  • Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans, taking into account patient-specific needs and goals.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary critical care team to ensure seamless patient care and optimal outcomes.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting patient-centered care and empowerment.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical practice guidelines and protocols.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advances in respiratory care and technology, applying this knowledge to improve patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field or equivalent experience.
  • Current registration as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and licensure in the state of Massachusetts.
  • At least one year of experience in adult critical care, with a strong background in respiratory care and mechanical ventilation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to lift and transport respiratory therapy equipment, with a maximum weight of 100 pounds.
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent exposure to infectious patients, blood products, and contaminated equipment. The Respiratory Therapist will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with frequent contact with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
