Job Summary

Carnegie Mellon University is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Font Desk Manager to support the Office of International Education. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the reception area, providing excellent customer service, and assisting with administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure front desk coverage during office hours and receive and welcome walk-in and phone customers
  • Assist with appointment scheduling, troubleshooting, and answer basic immigration questions
  • Receive and distribute immigration documents, conduct database checks, and prepare federally required letters
  • Serve as a Designated School Official and issue or sign visa documents
  • Assist with administrative projects, such as immigration reporting, and maintain office equipment
Requirements
  • High School or GED; Associates or bachelor's degree is highly preferred
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of administrative support experience and experience with various computer applications
  • Experience working in a Higher Education setting is preferred
