Position Summary: We are currently seeking a full-time, 40 hours per week, Hospitality Supervisor to enhance our dedicated and compassionate team. This role requires flexibility to work every other weekend and participate in a holiday work rotation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the scheduling of catering staff to ensure timely setup, delivery, service, and cleanup of all events, under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Dining Services and Front of the House Manager.
  • Prepare dining areas and decorations, setting buffet tables with food, beverages, and service items according to established standards.
  • Deliver food and beverages to catered events, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Engage with customers, addressing complaints in a friendly and service-oriented manner, and communicate relevant feedback to supervisors.
  • Return tables to their original setup, and manage leftover food and equipment efficiently.
  • Assess workload requirements based on catering orders.
  • Utilize excellent time management and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and coach staff in maintaining standards.
  • Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of all equipment, supplies, and utensils in the work area.
  • Follow approved recipes and production standards for food preparation.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of daily menu items and accurately convey this information to customers.
  • Assist the Assistant Director of Dining Services and Front of the House Manager in training staff and providing input for training plans and performance evaluations.
  • Support other functions as necessary.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED; relevant experience or training; or a combination of education and experience. Supervisory or team lead experience in food service is essential. Experience in wait staff or related roles is advantageous.

Physical Requirements: This position requires regular standing, talking, hearing, and tasting or smelling. Frequent walking, handling, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and occasional sitting are necessary. The ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally is required. Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings.

Work Environment: The role involves frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme temperatures, and noise levels typically described as loud.

Additional Requirements: A valid driver's license may be necessary. Must possess or be able to obtain ServeSafe Certification within six months of hire (training provided). Excellent interpersonal communication skills and strong time management and organizational abilities are essential. A commitment to outstanding customer service for both residents and staff is required.
