This role demands the highest standards to create visually appealing and appetizing dishes. Additionally, the specialist is responsible for upholding cleanliness, sanitation, and safety in the kitchen and surrounding areas while striving to minimize waste and optimize cost-effectiveness.
Qualifications & Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent; experience in hospitality or a related field is preferred.
- Food Handlers Certification (must meet State regulations).
- Ability to communicate information and ideas effectively.
- Quick and accurate evaluation and selection among various options.
- Ability to perform well in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
- Maintain composure and professionalism under stress.
- Engage with guests and team members in a welcoming, service-oriented manner.
- Adhere to attendance policies in line with Avion Hospitality standards, with schedules varying based on hotel needs.
- Uphold high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the appropriate uniform and name tag.
- Consistently comply with Avion Hospitality standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient operations.
- Meet certification requirements relevant to the position, including Food Handlers and Safety certifications.
- Maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor at all times.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of menus and preparation methods as per hotel standards.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of all storage areas.
- Prepare necessary food items and station setups prior to the opening of the Restaurant/Dining Outlet or Cafe to guarantee prompt and efficient service during operating hours.
- Prepare and present buffet items in accordance with Avion Hospitality standards.
- Maintain a presence on the kitchen line during operating hours to prepare food to order, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and quality.
- Prepare food for Banquets as specified in Banquet Event Orders.
- Prepare and serve food for the Associate Cafeteria as directed by restaurant leadership.
- Follow Avion Hospitality standard recipes for all food preparations, with specials being created under the guidance of restaurant leadership.
- Break down buffets and kitchen lines, ensuring proper storage of food and equipment after each meal period.
- Work at banquet food stations as scheduled by restaurant leadership.
- Be knowledgeable about the location and operation of all fire safety equipment.
- Practice safe work habits consistently to prevent injury to oneself or fellow associates.
- Familiarize oneself with all hotel policies and house rules.
- Understand the hotel's emergency procedures.
- Utilize Production Charts as outlined by Avion Hospitality standards.
- Exhibit attentiveness, friendliness, helpfulness, and courtesy towards guests, managers, and fellow associates at all times.
- Be capable of operating and maintaining cleanliness of all kitchen equipment.
- Adhere to the 'Clean As You Go' policy.
- Assist in the storage and rotation of food items in accordance with hotel procedures.
- Sign out and return keys under supervision as required.
- Participate in meetings as required by management.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.
