Position Summary: We are currently seeking a full-time Dining Services Hospitality Lead, requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week. This role necessitates flexibility, including working every other weekend and participating in a holiday work rotation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the scheduling of catering staff to ensure timely setup, delivery, service, and cleanup of all dining functions, under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Dining Services and Front of the House Manager.
- Prepare dining areas, including arranging tables and decorations, and setting buffet tables according to established standards.
- Deliver food and beverages to catered events, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Engage with customers to address and resolve any complaints in a friendly and service-oriented manner, while relaying relevant feedback to supervisors.
- Return tables to their original arrangement and manage leftover food and equipment efficiently.
- Assess workload requirements based on catering orders and manage multiple tasks effectively, utilizing strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ensure proper food presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of all equipment, supplies, and utensils in the work area.
- Adhere to approved recipes and production standards for food preparation.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of daily menu items and communicate this information accurately to customers.
- Assist in training staff and contribute to performance evaluations and training plans as needed.
- Support other functions as required.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience: A high school diploma or GED is required, along with relevant experience or training. Supervisory or team lead experience in food service is essential, while experience as wait staff is advantageous.
Physical Requirements: This position involves regular standing, walking, and the ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and depth perception.
Language Skills: Candidates must possess the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and effectively present information in small group settings.
Work Environment: The role may involve exposure to wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and varying noise levels.
Additional Requirements: A valid driver's license may be necessary. Candidates must be able to obtain ServeSafe Certification within six months of hire, with training provided by the organization. Strong interpersonal communication skills and a commitment to outstanding customer service are essential.
