This technical role necessitates a solid foundation in laboratory work and process technology. We welcome candidates with diverse levels of experience who exhibit the requisite skills and potential. The position is full-time and will be based at our research and development facility in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant science or engineering discipline, or equivalent technical experience
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Proven ability to adhere to detailed instructions in a manufacturing GMP environment
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or process development setting
  • Experience in leading the development or enhancement of systems and processes in a laboratory and manufacturing context
  • Experience in biomaterial synthesis or fabrication within a research and development environment is advantageous

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operational readiness of laboratory equipment and its associated processes, including extrusions, podding, coating dispersers, and injection molding
  • Ensure compliance with quality specifications and optimize ongoing processes on machinery
  • Demonstrate the ability to start up, operate, and shut down process-related equipment independently
  • Co-lead the introduction of new processes and equipment
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for injection molding machines and their support processes
  • Independently perform minor repairs and maintenance on molding machines and peripherals
  • Collaborate with equipment and material vendors to address machine and equipment challenges
  • Develop and implement process enhancements and technological upgrades
  • Identify and execute cost optimization and reduction initiatives
  • Maintain high-quality standards through active engagement with employees to ensure accuracy in each production step
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to process technicians and other team members
  • Ensure all business activities comply with local laws and regulations and adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Guarantee compliance with environmental protection laws, fire prevention regulations, and occupational health and safety standards
