Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a scientific or engineering discipline, or equivalent proven technical experience.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proven ability to adhere to detailed instructions in a manufacturing GMP environment.
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or process development setting.
  • Experience in leading the creation or enhancement of systems and processes within a laboratory and manufacturing context.
  • Experience in a research and development environment, particularly in biomaterial synthesis or fabrication, is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operational readiness of laboratory equipment and its associated processes, including extrusions, podding, coating dispersers, and injection molding.
  • Ensure compliance with quality specifications and optimize ongoing processes on machinery.
  • Demonstrated capability to start up, operate, and shut down process-related equipment independently.
  • Co-lead the implementation of new processes and machinery.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for injection molding machines and their support processes.
  • Independently perform minor repairs and maintenance on molding machines and related equipment.
  • Collaborate with equipment and material vendors to address machine and equipment challenges.
  • Develop and implement process enhancements and technological advancements.
  • Identify and execute cost optimization and reduction initiatives.
  • Maintain high-quality standards through active engagement with employees to ensure quality and accuracy throughout the production process.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to process technicians and other team members.
  • Ensure all business activities comply with local laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Guarantee adherence to laws and regulations concerning environmental protection, fire prevention, and occupational health and safety.
