The ideal candidate will leverage expertise in image processing and analysis techniques to enhance operational planning and execution, while exploring innovative technologies for multi-phenomenology data integration and analysis. Responsibilities include evaluating commercial and academic methodologies, developing effectiveness metrics, enhancing system functionalities, and formulating new operational procedures. Both formal and informal reporting is essential to document strategies, schedules, progress updates, and results, effectively communicating plans to a diverse audience of internal stakeholders and clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct data processing and scientific analysis of space domain awareness data across various phenomenology and mission sectors.
  • Engage with ground data processing systems to identify opportunities for enhancement and optimization.
  • Deliver presentations to peers, management, and clients.
  • Support new business initiatives through proposal development and cost/schedule assessments.
  • Maintain a consistent and predictable work schedule.
  • Foster and sustain effective working relationships within the department, Strategic Business Units, and the Company, ensuring a positive and productive work atmosphere.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
On-Site Work Environment: This role necessitates regular in-person engagement, requiring the candidate to work on-site five days each week at the primary work location. Occasional travel and local commuting between company facilities may be necessary.

Working Conditions:
  • Work may be conducted in an office, laboratory, production area, cleanroom, outdoor, or remote research setting.
  • Occasional work in production environments may require the use of protective equipment.
  • Access to various facilities may occur under diverse weather conditions.
#IJSRequired Education, Experience, & Skills:
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical discipline is required, along with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Each advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) may substitute for two years of experience. Relevant technical experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. The degree must be from an accredited institution recognized by the US Secretary of Education.
  • A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is mandatory.
  • Extensive experience in scientific analysis of space domain awareness imagery, with knowledge of image formation and various phenomenology (EO/IR, Radar, Passive RF).
  • Experience in mission planning and tasking for SDA sensors and architectures.
  • Familiarity with micro-services based, cloud-computing architectures and Agile software development methodologies.
  • Additional experience in processing various imagery types from National, Civil, and Commercial imaging systems, along with proficiency in techniques, algorithms, and scientific analysis of imagery data processing using tools like DS9, IDASS, or similar.
  • Experience with architectural modeling tools such as STK, ODTK, and AFSIM.
  • Strong understanding of customer relationships, with knowledge of missions and clients across core technology areas.
  • Excellent presentation skills, with experience in presenting technical findings to senior clients and during technical review sessions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technicians, peers, senior engineers, business development, and management.
  • Proven capability to contribute to the success of small teams through strong leadership and teamwork.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as MATLAB or Python.
  • Knowledge of state estimation and orbital mechanics.
  • Master's or advanced degree in a relevant field.
Compensation Information:
Full-Time Salary Range: $173,500

Please note: This range is based on market pay structures. Individual salaries are determined by various factors including business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
