Role Summary:

We are looking for experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) to architect, develop, and sustain our advanced AWS platform. This role offers the chance to engage with a variety of technologies and to create seamless integrations between diverse services, both on-premises and cloud-based. You will collaborate with a talented team that values innovation and creativity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with a diverse group of engineers and architects to design, develop, and implement secure, robust, and scalable solutions for Bank of America's External Cloud Platform.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to establish deployment strategies utilizing automated, continuous integration, and delivery pipelines.
  • Oversee reliability aspects, working closely with technical experts and stakeholders to troubleshoot complex issues and ensure they do not recur.
  • Utilize SRE practices, service level indicators, and objectives to proactively address potential issues before they affect customers.
  • Analyze and visualize data from various sources to drive continuous improvement of the platform.
  • Implement infrastructure and configuration as code for applications and platforms under your responsibility.
  • Identify opportunities to automate processes and enhance operational stability.
  • Promote best practices in site reliability engineering across the organization.
  • Participate in on-call coverage and conduct blameless postmortems as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

  • 15 years of combined experience in SRE, software development, or infrastructure engineering (10 years with an advanced degree in a related field).
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with major cloud service providers.
  • Strong expertise in building and maintaining scalable cloud platforms, particularly on AWS.
  • Proficient with monitoring tools and cloud-native services.
  • Experience in programming languages such as Python, Java, or .Net.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline implementation.
  • Advanced understanding of networking and operating systems.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with IAM infrastructure and automation tools.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies.
  • Understanding of cost management and FinOps models.
