Position Overview:
The Senior Reliability Engineer collaborates closely with field Maintenance Engineers, Project Engineers, and operational personnel to ensure the safe and efficient functioning of the assigned plant.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline
  • Preferred: Six Sigma Green Belt certification
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical or petrochemical plant maintenance and/or reliability engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Root Cause Failure Analysis and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis
  • Leadership experience, including temporary or interim roles
  • Familiarity with drafting and design software
  • Experience in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
  • Background in a unionized setting is a plus
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
  • Capability to perform physical tasks in an industrial environment, including climbing and confined space entry
  • Knowledge of mechanical machinery design and repair techniques
  • Solid educational foundation in materials, mechanics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a proven track record of working independently and within teams
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and communication skills
  • Able to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Proficient in using influence to achieve objectives
  • Hands-on experience with SAP work management systems or similar tools
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze equipment failures to identify and eliminate root causes
  • Review and advise on repairs and modifications to rotating equipment
  • Establish and oversee equipment lubrication programs
  • Develop and implement Reliability Control Plans for various equipment classes to enhance safety, environmental, and operational performance
  • Support the execution and documentation of repair and preventive maintenance activities for rotating equipment
  • Engage with preferred equipment manufacturers and technical consultants
  • Draft maintenance job plans for specific repair tasks
  • Maintain and update maintenance documentation for critical plant equipment
  • Assist with vibration analysis and condition monitoring of rotating equipment
  • Prepare technical reports to document repair actions and failure analyses
  • Manage and report on plant reliability metrics
  • Participate in health, safety, and environmental activities
  • Support troubleshooting of equipment performance as needed
  • Ensure design-for-maintainability and reliability in equipment installations and upgrades
  • Develop and maintain job plans for repair activities
