We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to enhance our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of security configurations and protocols for information systems.
  • Act as a liaison between system owners and security personnel to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Verify that security controls are properly implemented and functioning throughout the information system lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive security documentation, ensuring it is continuously updated and reviewed.
  • Conduct necessary vulnerability assessments in accordance with established risk assessment guidelines.
  • Create Plans of Action and Milestones (POAMs) to address identified security vulnerabilities.
  • Manage risks associated with information systems and coordinate corrective actions, ensuring timely completion of POAMs.
  • Facilitate system owner agreement on necessary corrective measures.
  • Monitor security controls to maintain compliance with security authorization requirements.
  • Upload security control evidence to the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) application to support ongoing monitoring efforts.
  • Report any changes affecting system authorization status to the system owner and IS Security Manager (ISSM).
  • Coordinate the decommissioning of information systems in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Possess a solid understanding of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework (RMF) and authorization processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) in a secure environment.
  • Possess at least one of the following certifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Global Information Security Professional (GISP), or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP), or equivalent certifications demonstrating advanced skills in Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level III.
  • Familiarity with security tools such as Tenable Nessus, IBM Guardium, and Network Mapper (NMAP) is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field is preferred.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
  • Position may require a CI Polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
  • Occasional movement within the office to access necessary resources.
  • Frequent operation of office equipment, including computers and printers.
  • Ability to position oneself to maintain computers in various settings.
  • Regular communication with colleagues and clients, requiring the ability to convey information accurately.
