Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Resident Support Specialist to join our team at Community Assistance Network. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and guidance to low-income residents, ensuring a safe and clean living environment, and promoting personal growth and stability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce the Shelter Resident Guidebook and maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment.
  • Support residents in completing their assigned chores, attending classes, meetings, appointments, and other required services.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean shelter environment by stocking lavatories, stripping beds, and preparing totes and beds for new resident intakes.
  • Monitor and supervise residents, including their rooms, lobby, dining room, shelter trailer, patio, and shelter grounds.
  • Complete Staff Shift Check List and record shift documentation onto the Staff Logbook prior to end of work shift.
  • Complete daily intake of clients and make referrals for clients in crisis.
Requirements
  • AA Degree in Human Services or Social Work or related field preferred. Two years human service experience may be substituted for college degree.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and implement programs.
  • Knowledge of community services.
  • Effective listening, professionalism, effective communication skills verbally and non-verbally, customer client-focus, informing others, handles pressure, phone skills, and supply management.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and transportation.
  • Strong initiative with ability to self-manage.
