The Museum of African American History seeks a seasoned Senior Director of Development to lead its resource development efforts. This key leadership role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and facilitating strategic fundraising initiatives to support the Museum's mission.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a comprehensive development strategy in partnership with the Senior Vice President of Institutional Advancement.
- Oversee the development and execution of fundraising proposals, solicitations, and grant applications.
- Manage and mentor a team of development professionals to achieve fundraising goals.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to identify funding opportunities and develop strategic partnerships.
- Develop and implement annual development plans, including strategies for annual giving, donor relationship building, and special events.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Five or more years of professional experience in a nonprofit organization, with a minimum of five years in a development leadership role.
- Proven success in leading and managing fundraising efforts at the organizational level.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, stakeholders, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
