Key Responsibilities- Advance initiatives that promote and sustain the safety, health, and welfare of all personnel.
- Provide leadership and direction to the maintenance team, inspiring high performance through effective goal setting and performance measurement.
- Implement and institutionalize the Business Unit's standardized preventive and predictive maintenance system, utilizing TPM, Lean, and Six Sigma principles.
- Design and implement efficient shop floor and warehouse layouts and flow paths, minimizing waste and downtime.
- Develop and lead personnel, teaching, coaching, and mentoring to ensure continuous improvement and growth.
- Drive process improvement and problem-solving through Lean and Six Sigma principles and root cause analysis.
- Establish a collaborative working relationship with business unit connections, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
- Assess and evaluate facility maintenance personnel, making recommendations to the Operations Manager to remedy training, skills, or performance deficiencies.
- Provide direction, assistance, and resources necessary to inventory, organize, and control MRO spares, establishing optimal inventory levels to ensure effective maintenance operation.
- Effectively utilize Maximo maintenance software to drive preventive and predictive maintenance activities, tracking and analyzing work order performance, developing detailed PM tasks and schedules, and analyzing breakdowns and failures.
- Manage all outside service contractors, ensuring compliance with plant safety requirements.
- Initiate, write, manage, and lead the process for Capital Expenses, ensuring effective planning and execution.
- Construct, evaluate, and report out maintenance and engineering results for the facility, providing insights for continuous improvement.
- 5+ years of successful hands-on engineering/maintenance management experience in an industrial environment, preferably in a high-volume plastic extrusion and converting operation.
- Computer systems knowledge, including experience with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Auto-CAD, and Maximo.
- Ability to effectively communicate information both verbally and in writing, with strong presentation skills.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees, customers, or suppliers.
- B.S. degree in a relevant field, with advanced degree a plus.
- 3-5+ years' related experience in a manufacturing environment utilizing TQM, ISO, Lean Manufacturing, and/or Six Sigma is preferred.
