Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Associate Director of Maintenance and Utilities to join our team at Global Recruiters of Dublin (GRN Dublin). The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing the reliability, maintenance, and utilities strategy, overseeing a site-based team, and ensuring compliance with all applicable business policies, laws, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the reliability, maintenance, and utilities strategy
  • Oversee a site-based team accountable for the development, implementation, and operational compliance of the Civica Petersburg, VA facility
  • Provide technical expertise on Maintenance, Reliability, Facilities, and Compliance standards
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping
  • Manage multiple projects with frequent changes and coordinate and manage project activities while involving cross-functional partners
  • Establish and maintain a spare part program, establish departmental metrics, and establish and maintain a planning and scheduling program
  • Develop and maintain training strategies to ensure the technical team is proficient and up to date in maintenance and repair techniques
  • Attract, develop, and retain a diverse, qualified staff through effective training, succession planning strategies, and ongoing performance feedback
  • Drive a culture of engagement and inclusivity throughout the organization through clear communication, collaboration, and recognition
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable business policies, laws, and regulations, including U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and other regulatory requirements
Requirements
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or similar technical degree
  • 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in utilities and facilities or related roles in the pharmaceutical/FDA-regulated manufacturing environment
  • 7+ years of subject matter expertise with GMP Critical Utilities and Facilities
  • Strong knowledge of CMMS and Metrology
  • Demonstrated strong leadership, motivation, team building, communication, and advanced coaching skills that instill a strong sense of mission in a team environment across all levels of the organization
  • Experience in developing departmental budgets and responsibly managing cost centers
  • Excellent project management and time management capabilities, with the ability to partner and influence across a matrixed environment
  • Capacity to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrates excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production and maintenance needs
  • Previous operational readiness/project management/start-up experience
  • Previous experience/best practices implementing and using continuous improvement/lean tools such as; Kaizen, Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a Sterile Injectables facility
  • Demonstrated management and delivery of large capital projects
  • Knowledge and understanding of Data Integrity and how it applies to the BioTech Industry with specific focus on guidelines from the FDA
