Role Summary

The Lead Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of high-performance, durable vehicle components. This position entails conducting engineering assessments, creating designs, and enhancing components for both current and future vehicle models. The ideal candidate will offer support in the integration and execution of vehicle and component designs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct engineering calculations and investigations in line with industry standards.
  • Assist senior engineers in drafting plans, designs, and documentation.
  • Oversee projects or segments of projects with manageable complexity.
  • Collaborate with various engineering and business support teams, as well as external vendors.
  • Mentor junior engineers, designers, or technicians on shared projects.
  • Maintain clear communication with suppliers and stakeholders regarding technical matters.
  • Ensure adherence to engineering criteria and drawing standards.
  • Assess designs for functionality, safety, and reliability.
  • Create layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
  • Perform engineering analyses to select appropriate parts and materials.
  • Provide technical support for production activities.
  • Resolve engineering challenges communicated through various channels.
  • Prepare technical documents, proposals, and presentations.
  • Maintain project documentation for future reference and analysis.
  • Utilize analytical methods to optimize designs and evaluate system performance.
  • Ensure consistent attendance and fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Background in automotive manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with automotive product design and troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle systems.
  • Experience with high voltage battery electric vehicles (BEV).
  • Proficiency in automotive software programming and CAN network analysis.
  • Familiarity with CATIA for troubleshooting purposes.

  • Support senior engineers with design and reporting activities.
  • Manage and contribute to projects of limited complexity.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external teams.
  • Provide guidance to entry-level engineers.
  • Ensure effective technical communication with all stakeholders.
  • Adhere to engineering standards and policies.
  • Evaluate design safety and reliability.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and project records.
  • Address engineering issues promptly and effectively.
  • Keep project documentation current and organized.
  • Demonstrate regular attendance and engage in additional assigned tasks.
