Role Summary:

As a Geotechnical Engineer at Bunnell-Lammons Engineering, Inc. (BLE), you will play a crucial role in our Geotechnical Department, providing expert engineering and consulting services across various projects. Your responsibilities will encompass leading geotechnical field investigations, performing engineering calculations, conducting laboratory tests, and offering design consultation for large-scale industrial projects, including landfills and mines.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering consulting or project management.
  • Current Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently.
  • Familiarity with project management principles, including documentation, costs, and schedules.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil3D.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office (Word & Excel).
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and lead project teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct geotechnical evaluations for environmental facilities, focusing on aspects such as settlement and slope stability.
  • Manage subsurface explorations through various methods, including soil test borings and geophysical techniques.
  • Oversee field staff in sampling and data collection, ensuring accurate documentation of activities.
  • Analyze laboratory and field data for report inclusion.
  • Develop spreadsheets for monitoring geotechnical data, including surface movement and piezometric conditions.
  • Prepare technical reports, calculation packages, and correspondence to document engineering analyses.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
