About the Role:
In this role, you will be integral to our manufacturing operations, providing support across multiple facilities. Your expertise will be crucial in designing, specifying, purchasing, and constructing mechanical systems and components that enhance our production capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Your duties will include:
- Developing initial designs and defining functional specifications for new machinery and systems.
- Estimating project budgets and ensuring the procurement of necessary parts and systems.
- Monitoring the fabrication of mechanical equipment and managing vendor/contractor relationships.
- Delivering comprehensive technical documentation and overseeing the installation and startup of projects, ranging from minor modifications to large-scale expansions.
- Engaging directly with operators and maintenance personnel to gain in-depth knowledge of processes and equipment.
- Providing technical guidance for the maintenance, modification, and installation of machinery within the tire manufacturing process.
- Participating in all aspects of project management, including economic justification, design, procurement, installation, and training for operations and maintenance.
- Acting as a liaison between facility engineering, quality assurance, methods, purchasing teams, and equipment suppliers to ensure a clear understanding of system requirements.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with proven project management experience.
- Strong mechanical design skills and familiarity with tire manufacturing equipment.
- A minimum of three years of industrial mechanical design experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership abilities, with a track record of achieving goals independently.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Mechanical and/or SolidWorks, along with Microsoft Office applications.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and resolve technical issues.
