Position Summary

The Logistics Specialist will be stationed in Jacksonville, Florida, providing essential support for our Supply Chain operations. This role reports directly to the Logistics Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage purchasing orders; monitor order status and investigate any issues or discrepancies.
  • Prepare, design, and maintain reports related to discrepancies, receiving, shipping, and other logistics functions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of customer orders within the program.
  • Verify that received items match the corresponding purchase order lines.
  • Collaborate with Buyers to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Document the receipt of purchases in the inventory management system using data and delivery notes.
  • Manage the receipt, inspection, unpacking, and delivery of goods, selecting the most efficient shipping methods based on urgency.
  • Process invoices for payment of received goods.
  • Handle and document returns as per established protocols.
  • Deliver parts to designated locations as required.
  • Perform clerical tasks, including data entry and customer assistance.
  • May lead and train staff as necessary within the operational area.
  • Communicate effectively with the receiving team through verbal and written reports.
  • Execute miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Logistics Supervisor.
  • Coordinate and approve vendor delivery schedules, including pickups.
  • Assist in maintaining logistics policies and procedures.
  • Supervise subcontractor performance, scheduling, and planning.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; one year of relevant experience may substitute for one year of education if a degree is required.

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Not applicable.

Experience:

  • At least three years of direct experience in government and commercial defense sectors.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance within one year if necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with the DoD Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
  • Familiarity with Supply Chain processes and associated systems.
  • Experience in managing materials within programs or functions.
  • Knowledge of ITAR licenses, INCOTERMS, freight forwarding, and courier services.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Skills in briefing, project management, organization, and communication.
  • Familiarity with Maximo and IFS systems.

Skills & Technologies

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and interpersonal abilities, adept at problem-solving and negotiation.
  • Effective Communication: Proficient in English for vendor communication and negotiation; capable of clear written and verbal communication.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook, and capable of using general office equipment.

Work Environment: The position is primarily office-based and may require adherence to safety protocols at client sites. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be necessary when applicable. Physical activities may include lifting up to 35 lbs., stooping, climbing, and prolonged periods of standing or sitting.
