Position Overview:

The Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for managing and tracking orders related to transportation, storage, and fulfillment of specialized and high-value products. This role collaborates closely with clients, shippers, Suddath sales representatives, operational teams, van operators, and warehouse personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

Order Management and Pricing
  • Gather order details from various sources, including Sales, Clients, Shippers, and other Suddath branches.
  • Review and validate project and service requests.
  • Ensure that requested services can be fulfilled within the specified timeframe.
  • Verify order data according to established guidelines.
  • Confirm that the individual placing the order has the necessary authority, including obtaining appropriate approvals.
  • Assign origin and destination agents as required.
  • Follow administrative protocols for customer setup and credit approval.
  • Apply existing pricing or confirm rates with Sales.
  • Provide quotes or estimates as needed by clients.
Order Registration and Documentation
  • Input order information into the move management system with all required details.
  • Ensure all information and special instructions are properly uploaded.
  • Confirm completion of the task list in the workflow function.
  • Request updates to workflow task lists for new or changing client needs.
  • Verify that other branches and agents can meet service and date requirements.
  • Create necessary documents for service completion and billing.
Communication and Coordination
  • Complete all workflow tasks daily for each order.
  • Proactively monitor services for known issues.
  • Communicate with all relevant parties to ensure timely service completion.
  • Assist in resolving problems and escalate unresolved issues.
  • Follow up on open or escalated issues to ensure resolution.
  • Provide status updates on orders to clients and involved parties.
  • Participate in client reporting as requested.
Order Tracking and Updates
  • Complete all workflow tasks daily for each order.
  • Document task completion in the move management system.
  • Record conversations and updates regarding orders in the system.
  • Update and note change orders as communicated by clients or other participants.
  • Ensure that any change orders are authorized and completed promptly.
  • Continuously update order status in the move management system.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

Education/Experience:

A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, along with five to seven years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Proficiency:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, professional journals, and technical procedures. Proficient in writing reports and business correspondence.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios to practical situations.

Reasoning Skills:

Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.

Computer Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and effectively use move management software.

Certificates and Licenses:

No certifications required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

The work environment is typically moderate in noise level.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this role include the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands, and communicate verbally.
