Job Title: Preschool Development Grant Lead/State Program Administrator Coordinator

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Preschool Development Grant Lead/State Program Administrator Coordinator. This role will be responsible for coordinating and implementing agency-specific activities related to the federal Preschool Development Grant, using guiding principles of racial equity, trauma-informed, geographic responsiveness, intersectionality, cross-agency, whole families, and inclusion and belonging.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foster connections between the work of the MN Story Collective, mixed-delivery partnerships, professional development opportunities, and family engagement activities.
  • Serve as a MDH representative on the interagency Help Me Connect (HMC) Planning Team and support the transition of HMC to the Department of Children, Youth and Families.
  • Coordinate the collaboration between the PDG strategic plan implementation and the Maternal and Child Health Title V Block Grant, the MDH Family Home Visiting, Women, Infant and Children Supplemental Nutrition Program (WIC), and the Child and Family Health Division strategic plan development and implementation.
Requirements
  • Four (4) years of experience in a public health/human services setting administering grants.
  • Coordinating with community partners, inter-agency partners, and/or external partners on grant-related activities.
  • Implementing and overseeing contract activities, such as ensuring contracts are being executed, policies and procedures are being followed, and/or trusting relationships are built and maintained.
  • Conducting community engagement initiatives with local public health agencies, primary care providers, Tribal Nations, and/or other public health entities.
  • Conducting outreach with internal and external stakeholders, such as building and maintaining relationships, coordinating community strategies, and/or collaborating with stakeholders on grant initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in public health, maternal and child health, education, or closely related field of study.
  • Knowledge of the history of tribal relations within the state and local community, including unique local educational needs, practices, values, and language, including the rights of a sovereign nation and treaty rights of the American Indians in Minnesota.
  • Working knowledge of national and state maternal and child health programs; local public health agency roles and responsibilities; and characteristics of Minnesota's state and local public health partnership.
