Job Title: HR Manager

Join the Westin Arlington Gateway team as an HR Manager, responsible for coordinating all Human Resources activities and ensuring a positive employee experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer insurance benefits, calculate billing totals, and explain benefits to employees.
  • Compile review lists and distribute them to departments.
  • Compile Turnover Reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Enter payroll information, manage wage changes, and audit hours worked.
  • Conduct prescreening interviews, respond to unemployment claims, and maintain logbooks.
  • Monitor Leave of Absence and Workman's Compensation claims, complete necessary reports, and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Answer questions regarding the 401K Plan, vacation, and benefits, and maintain complimentary room night logs.
  • Prepare and place recruitment advertising, process paperwork for terminating employees, and maintain advertising logbooks.
  • Develop and implement training programs, ensure compliance with HR and Loss Prevention SOPs, and schedule Highgate Hotel Orientations.
  • Coordinate Travel Reduction Programs, write Travel Reduction Plans, and conduct yearly transportation surveys.
Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a hotel or related industry.
  • Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
  • College coursework in a related field helpful.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Long hours sometimes required.
  • Sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with all levels of employees and guests.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize departmental functions, and meet deadlines.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
  • Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas, and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Ability to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
