Job Responsibilities:

We are seeking Support Care Specialists to deliver comprehensive in-home assistance and support to individuals facing mental health challenges, behavioral issues, developmental disorders, and other cognitive conditions.

A Support Care Specialist engages directly with clients who have physical, intellectual, and cognitive diagnoses. They aid in daily living tasks and promote attitudes and behaviors that facilitate the individual's integration into their community or least restrictive environment. The primary objective is to enhance independence while elevating the client's quality of life.


Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Advocating for the client's needs, self-expression, and aspirations
  • Instructing life skills, healthy routines, and constructive behaviors
  • Reducing or eliminating maladaptive behaviors
  • Assisting with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and medication management
  • Supporting sensory and motor skill development
  • Providing companionship and engaging in conversation
  • Creating opportunities for clients to participate in their preferred activities
  • Encouraging clients to set and achieve personal objectives
  • Performing light housekeeping, meal preparation, and cooking
  • Facilitating transportation to appointments

Salary: $21.00 per hour

Qualifications:

We are particularly interested in candidates with training and experience working with children diagnosed with autism, as well as those with experience supporting individuals with mental health and physical disabilities.

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of relevant and verifiable work experience
  • A valid driver's license, current insurance, a reliable vehicle, and a clean driving record
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to read, write, and speak in English
  • Physically capable of performing personal care tasks
  • Able to pass background and drug screenings
  • Available to work various shifts, including days, nights, and weekends
