ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Safety and Security Specialist is responsible for ensuring a secure and safe atmosphere for both guests and staff by implementing policies and consistently monitoring for potential safety risks and irregular activities through regular inspections of designated areas. This role involves investigating concerns or possible unlawful behavior; assisting in mitigating threats as required; and delivering protective services.

TEAM DYNAMICS:

Our team focuses on identifying, assessing, and acquiring cannabis operations across the United States to create a vertically integrated model for producing and distributing high-quality medical cannabis products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage access control for visitors, tenants, and service providers.
  • Uphold company and client policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and report on fire and safety risks.
  • Conduct regular foot patrols within and around the facility.
  • Document and communicate all relevant issues and incidents to management and security leadership.
  • Engage with a diverse range of individuals including clients, visitors, public safety officials, and employees.
  • Operate surveillance systems and related technology.
  • Ensure accurate date and time stamps on recorded footage and that camera views remain unobstructed.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding surveillance operations and protocols.
  • Promptly inform the security leadership of any significant technical issues with security systems.
  • Retain unaltered copies of recordings as required by law enforcement or regulatory agencies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in any field preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of customer service experience in a retail environment.
  • Strong computer, mathematical, language, and reasoning abilities.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Exceptional multitasking capabilities in both phone and face-to-face interactions.
  • Occasional local travel may be necessary.
  • BSIS certification is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Regularly perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Frequent standing and walking.
  • Occasionally required to reach above shoulder height, perform light and heavy grasping, use a telephone, sort and file documents, and lift/carry/push/pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasional twisting, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, or crawling.
