ROLE SUMMARY

The Tribal Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the security and protection of guests, employees, and tribal assets. This role involves conducting safety checks for all vehicles, tribal members, visitors, vendors, and personnel entering and exiting the Tribal Administration Plaza and Courthouse. Responsibilities include maintaining dispatch logs and adhering to proper communication protocols, as well as monitoring activities through Closed Circuit Television.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Uphold the integrity of all tribal protocols
  • Promptly report any suspicious or unusual activities to the appropriate supervisor
  • Conduct security patrols of the premises
  • Assist in traffic monitoring as necessary
  • Control access to restricted areas
  • Manage check-in and check-out processes for guests, vendors, and team members
  • Provide first aid, CPR, and utilize AED as required
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed
  • Safeguard found property, keys, and badges
  • Remove individuals from tribal property as directed by authorized personnel
  • Maintain records of sensitive keys and their issuance
  • Document security incidents involving guests or team members
  • Monitor and log activities of Tribal Enterprises via CCTV
  • Perform data entry for Daily Dispatch Activity Logs, including all incidents and report logs
  • Be available for weekend or after-hours work for tribal events
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding daily operations
  • Adhere to all Tribal Ordinances, Regulations, and Standard Operating Procedures
SUPERVISORY ROLE

No supervisory responsibilities.

ACCESS TO SENSITIVE AREAS

Unlimited access when summoned or performing escort duties with notification and departmental personnel present.

KEYS

Access to all keys used by authorized personnel and during emergencies.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • One year of experience in Law Enforcement, Security, or Military preferred
  • Valid CA driver's license required
  • Experience with surveillance systems
  • Proficient in writing incident reports
  • Current Guard Card or completion of 832 PC college courses preferred
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated competence in assigned responsibilities
  • Must obtain CPR, AED, and First Aid certification
  • Experience with radio and dispatch communications
  • Knowledge of security equipment such as x-ray scanners and magnetometers
WORKING CONDITIONS

To succeed in this role, the individual must be able to stand, move, and work throughout various indoor and outdoor environments, including walking up to one mile, climbing stairs, and sitting at a workstation for extended periods. The work environment may include exposure to smoke. Typically, the role is based in an office setting, with moderate noise levels that may increase in casino areas. The individual must be able to lift and carry items weighing at least 25 lbs intermittently and possess sufficient dexterity to operate office equipment.
