Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our Rapid Decision Unit team at Trinity Health Livonia. As a Patient Care Technician, you will provide direct patient care, considering the unique needs of each individual, and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including vital sign monitoring, wound care, and assistance with activities of daily living.
- Assist with patient transfers, ambulation, and positioning.
- Collect and send specimens, including blood and blood cultures.
- Perform point-of-care testing, such as blood glucose monitoring.
- Document patient information and required data in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist with preparing the patient room for arrival and discharge.
- Provide education and support to patients and families regarding hospital equipment and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of one year of previous direct care experience or successful completion of a CENA, PCT, MA, or EMT course.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
