ROLE SUMMARY:

In the capacity of an Underwriting Administrative Specialist, you will play a key role in enhancing the underwriting department's functionality by performing various administrative duties aimed at improving the accuracy and efficiency of the underwriting workflow. Your responsibilities will encompass document management, data entry, and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders. By diligently managing return mail and identifying incorrect addresses, you will provide essential insights to our teams, allowing agents to address issues promptly and prevent policy lapses.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Systematically organize return mail by policy numbers, customer names, and other relevant identifiers.
  • Accurately label documents for easy access and retrieval.
  • Ensure the completeness and accuracy of returned mail items before flagging them.
  • Identify and flag mail items with incorrect addresses or those deemed undeliverable.
  • Document details of return mail, including reasons for return and any pertinent notes.
  • Update customer records based on return mail information to maintain accuracy.
  • Collaborate with various teams to resolve flagged issues and prevent future mail complications.
  • Facilitate effective communication between departments regarding return mail matters.
  • Adhere to company policies and regulatory standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 1 year of office experience, preferably within the insurance sector.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and document management systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong time management capabilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with property and casualty insurance terminology is a plus.
