Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Territory Underwriter to join our Sales and Marketing team. As a Field Territory Underwriter, you will play a critical role in evaluating, assessing, and pricing risks while leading profitable growth for our agency partners in your territory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite: Analyze risks, price, negotiate, and make informed decisions on commercial business
  • Market: Sell and solicit business across all business units available within the territory to build a strong, diverse agency relationship
  • Develop the territory: Lead territory in strategic plan development, ownership, and execution of enterprise-wide growth and profit within territory, including new agency appointments
  • Lead agencies: Achieve deep relationships with and understanding of each assigned agency relationship to build a diverse and profitable portfolio, delivering on our vision to be the best company serving independent agents
  • Provide leadership: Partner with and lead other field disciplines within designated agency relationships to ensure their success by communication, support, and collaboration with team members
  • Research the market: Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, emerging risks, primary competitors, and effectively communicate and make informed decisions based on this information
Requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
  • Willingness to travel and visit agencies within territory regularly
  • Strategic business plan development skills
  • Possion for leading
  • Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proven experience in underwriting, a minimum of 2 years of multiline commercial underwriting experience, more than 3 years preferred
  • Relevant insurance industry certifications (e.g., Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), professional selling) are a plus
