Covenant Physician Partners is seeking a skilled Optical Dispenser to join our team in Santa Ana, CA. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly rate of $18-$20 and requires a willingness to travel to various De La Pena locations in the area.
Key Responsibilities- Assist patients with selecting eyewear, taking facial measurements, and making adjustments to ensure a proper fit.
- Interview patients to determine their visual needs and interpret refractionist prescriptions.
- Instruct and counsel patients on proper eyeglass care methods.
- Enter prescription and sales information into our computerized system and perform other clerical functions as needed.
- Verify Optical Benefit coverage and dispense and adjust optical products.
- Inspect final products for accuracy and reconcile patient concerns.
- Perform daily inventory of frames and accessories and conduct necessary shop work, including cutting, edging, dyeing, and mounting of lenses.
- Repair frames as required and complete all necessary forms.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with 2 years of experience as a dispensing optician strongly preferred.
- Graduation from an opticianry/optician training program or on-the-job training is required, with ABO certification and licensure preferred.
- Previous experience with Eligibility and Authorizations is preferred, as well as the ability to work Saturdays.
- Good manual dexterity, ability to operate medical equipment, and excellent communication skills are essential.
- Computer skills for use with electronic medical records and inventory systems are required, as well as the ability to work in a team setting.
