Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Optical Care Specialist to join our team at South Central Family Health Center.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, ensuring individualized service with attentiveness, accuracy, and prompt delivery.

  • Assume the lead role in patient care, establishing a rapport with patients and other customers.
  • Work collaboratively with staff, management, students, and patients to create an exceptional experience.
  • Measure and dispense spectacles and accessories, providing follow-up services such as adjustments and repairs.
  • Provide hands-on instruction and guidance to interns in all matters relating to frame and lens selection.
  • Maintain supply inventory and review the accuracy of work and recordings made by clinicians.
  • Ensure proper computer record notations are made in accordance with Federal and State policies.
  • Review the quality of ophthalmic materials prior to patient dispensing.
  • Provide feedback on the performance of the optical laboratories and frame companies.
  • Responsible for 3rd party and customer billing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Bilingual and bi-literate Spanish/English preferred.
  • ABO Certified Required.
  • Current BLS Certification required.
