Position Overview

SAIC is seeking a Military Education Program Specialist to support the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Readiness (OUSD-R) and the Force Education and Training (FE&T) Military Education office. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in the development, implementation, and assessment of Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) programs and curricula tailored for military personnel. This position is essential for ensuring that educational offerings align with military doctrine, strategies, and operational requirements, thereby enhancing the competencies of service members for effective military performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop PME curricula that reflect current military doctrine, tactics, techniques, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure the precision and relevance of course materials.
  • Implement instructional strategies and methodologies that promote adult learning and professional growth.
  • Facilitate courses, workshops, and seminars covering military history, leadership, strategy, and operational art for service members across various ranks.
  • Conduct ongoing evaluations of PME courses to ensure they meet established learning objectives and are updated in accordance with evolving military strategies and technologies.
  • Work with senior military officials and educators to identify training needs and develop appropriate learning objectives.
  • Oversee the logistical components of PME course delivery, including scheduling, materials procurement, and technology resources.
  • Utilize diverse teaching aids and instructional technology platforms to enhance the educational experience.
  • Analyze participant feedback to refine course effectiveness and enhance student satisfaction.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to remain current with educational best practices and emerging military challenges.
  • Contribute to scholarly research and writing within the field of military education and doctrine.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, standards, and accreditation requirements.
  • Foster relationships with educational institutions, defense agencies, and international military education organizations.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's degree with fifteen (15) years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in Education, Military History, National Security, or a related field with thirteen (13) years or more of relevant experience.

  • Extensive background in military operations, planning, and/or training.
  • Understanding of the structure, culture, and requirements of military organizations.
  • Proven ability to design, deliver, and assess professional educational programs.
  • Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to collaborate effectively with military personnel and civilians.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in instructional technology and learning management systems.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
  • High level of initiative, discretion, and the ability to work independently.

Required Clearance:

  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive experience in military operations, planning, and/or training.
  • Familiarity with the structure, culture, and needs of military organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, deliver, and evaluate professional educational programs.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate with military personnel and civilians.

Compensation: Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The displayed estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
